Care About Student Success? So do we.

Community colleges across the nation are giving low- and moderate-income individuals an education and a chance to enter a higher-paying labor market, transforming their lives and potentially the lives of generations to come. It’s a remarkable opportunity, but it doesn’t work if enrollment doesn’t translate into graduation, a good job, and a family-supporting income.

Studying to Work and Working to Study

To make ends meet while completing their degrees, many community college students are compelled to take on full-time or part-time jobs. In 2011-2012, 33% of community college students in the US worked a full-time job and 36% worked a part-time job while still in school, for a whopping total of 69% of community college students holding down some kind of job while enrolled in their postsecondary degree programs. Unfortunately, the kinds of full- and part-time jobs that are compatible with college enrollment can be particularly hard to find.

Supporting the Family-Supporting Wage Earners of Tomorrow

Like community colleges across the US, Gigzilla is working hard to ensure that the community college students of today become the college graduates and family-supporting wage earners of tomorrow. We do this by collaborating with community colleges to help students find the temporary jobs they need to persevere through their college educations, while setting them up with the job contacts, professional networks, and technical support required to start a full-time career upon graduation.

We’re ready to connect with you to give community college students the employment resources required to thrive.
